Saya sih ga ngasih. Perempatan kedua, ada pengamen lagi, make biola sekarang. Mba cantik ngasih lagi, seribu. Saya? Tetep ga ngasih. Eh ternyata doi ngasih lagi, seribu. Udah cantik, dermawan lagi ya..
Oya, bulan Mei nanti Intermilan mau datang ke Indonesia. Bukan, saya bukan interisti. Saya milanisti dan emyunisty. Tapi untuk interisti pasti excited timnya mau datang. Asal jangan ada bom lagi ya. Masih inget waktu saya mau nonton m.u tapi ga jadi. Sakit hatinya tahan sampai berbulan-bulan.
...
Di situ disebutkan kalau dulu dia pernah go study abroad. "When you're 18 or 19 y.o a year abroad makes a tremendous impact. I looked at my own norms and values with a different perspectives."
Begitu saya baca, langsung ingat kejadian bulan lalu. Untung si dia sudah move on ;)
"What you told me about him/her, describe yourself more than him/her".

I aint a risk taker. I'm a coward. A follower, not a pioneer. Observe much. Counting benefits. Take action after others. Afraid of high, afraid of failure. So I just sit on my bed, watching drama series. And this is what I get.
A couple hundred days ago, Benjamin Franklin shared with the world secret of his success, "Never leave that till tomorrow," he said, "what you can do today". This is the man who discovered electricity. You'd think more of us would listen to what he had to say. I don't know why we put things off, but if i had to guess, I'd say it has a lot to do with fear. Fear of failure, fear of pain, fear of rejection. Sometimes, the fear is just making a decision, because what if you wrong? What if you're making a mistake you can't undo?
Anyway, we have to make our own mistakes. We have to learn our own lessons. We have to sweep today's possibility under tomorrow's rug until we cant anymore, until we finally understand for ourselves what Benjamin Franklin meant. That knowing is better than wondering. That waking is better than sleeping.
Then I remember of every chance that I missed, cause of fear. I remember of regrets, most are more painful than failure. And how mistakes that I did are the best lessons so far. Maybe I should listen Benjamin Franklin more, his face is in every 100 bucks US there. So now I sit, and continue watching Grey's, maybe til I fall asleep.

And that even the biggest failure, even the worst, most intractable mistake, beats the hell out of never trying.

"From a drop of water," said the writer, "a logician could infer the possibility of an Atlantic or a Niagara without having seen or heard of one or the other. So all life is a great chain, the nature of which is known whenever we are shown a single link of it. Like all other arts, the Science of Deduction and Analysis is one which can only be acquired by long and patient study, nor is life long enough to allow any mortal to attain the highest possible perfection in it. Before turning to those moral and mental aspects of the matter which present the greatest difficulties, let the inquirer begin by mastering more elementary problems. Let him, on meeting a fellow-mortal, learn at a glance to distinguish the history of the man, and the trade or profession to which he belongs. Puerile as such an exercise may seem, it sharpens the faculties of observation, and teaches one where to look and what to look for."

Cruise in Cuisine

Holaaa Amigoss!! How's your October? Mine? So far not so good. But thanks to my lovely friends and fam, I still have a good life. Posting sekarang sedikit flashback ke bulan September kemaren ya, cause that was a pretty great September for me. Hope it went well for you too :D
Jadi pada suatu hari di bulan September, saya dan beberapa kenalan mahasiswa asing, dan kedua sodara sepupu bikin acara masak-masak bareng, istilah kerennya having international cuisine dinner. Jadi rencananya kami masak masakan asal negara masing-masing.

Isinya kentang, beef (biasanya mereka pake bacon tapi karena tahu we don't eat it so they use beef instead), telur, dan selada.

Inget banget kata-kata Tessa, mahasiswa dari Jerman, "Isn't it supposed to be one piece?" Tapi ternyata mereka masih bilang enak. Mungkin cuma sekedar menghargai, tapi ya itu menghibur kami. All hail Dine! :D
T.T Tapi anyhow, it tastes good! :D

Bon Apetit!

Why Should I Hire You?
Posted in Garbage By inezia 0 komentar
Halo! Apa kabar semuanya?
Isinya tentu aja tentang career. Sedikit tips tentang wawancara. Enjoy :)
Common interview questions -- and how to answer them effectively
By Robert Half International
Every hiring manager has a different set of go-to interview questions. In a recent survey by our company, we asked more than 650 managers in the United States and Canada to name the single question they ask that provides the most insight about a job applicant. Responses ranged from classic queries ("Where do you see yourself in five years?") to less-traditional ones ("How would you describe yourself in five words?").
While there's not always one right way to answer an interview question, some approaches are better than others. Here are some questions from the survey that you may face in your next interview, along with tips on how -- and how not -- to answer them:
1. "Can you tell me a little about yourself?"
Do: Prepare for this popular question -- which is often the first one asked -- by developing an incisive summary of your career. Your sound bite should be succinct but include enough detail about your pertinent skills, work experience, accomplishments and goals that the hiring manager can quickly see what you bring to the table.
Don't: Give your life story, discuss leisure pursuits or describe aspects of your professional background that aren't relevant to the position you're interviewing for.
2. "Why do you want to join our company?"
Do: Walk into the interview with beyond-the-basics knowledge of the company. Read its website and marketing materials and relevant news stories to gain a good grasp of its mission, history, reputation and corporate culture. The more information you collect, the more specific you can be about why you're an excellent fit.
Don't: Answer in the context of your financial needs. Saying, "I hear you provide good pay and benefits" or, "Frankly, I need a job" won't score you any points.
3. "What's your biggest weakness?"
Do: View this as an opportunity to demonstrate your self-awareness, sincerity and problem-solving prowess. Mention an area where you could improve and spotlight the steps you've taken to do so.
Here's an example: "In the past, I sometimes overextended myself. Reading time-management books has helped me, though. Now, I make prioritized to-do lists, I've learned it's OK to delegate and I volunteer for extra projects only when I'm caught up on core responsibilities."
Don't: Offer a transparently fake flaw ("I care too much about my work.") or pretend to be perfect ("Weaknesses? None come to mind."). And, of course, don't be your own worst critic by citing countless shortcomings.
4. "Where do you see yourself in five years?"
Do: Position yourself as an ambitious but flexible realist. One way to do this is to speak of your desire to continually take on broader responsibilities and grow professionally no matter what role you're in. You also might emphasize your commitment to lifelong learning by mentioning your interest in attaining advanced industry certifications.
Don't: Focus on an overly lofty objective. For instance, boldly proclaiming you intend to be the firm's next chief financial officer when you're an entry-level accounting candidate certainly shows drive, but it's not a practical five-year objective. In addition, steer clear of fanciful daydreaming ("I'll be counting my lottery winnings on a Hawaiian beach.").
5. "Why are you looking to leave your current employer?"
Do: The interviewer is trying to figure out if you truly want the position, or if you're looking for any way out of a bad job. Reiterate what you like about the role you're seeking rather than gripe about the one you hope to vacate. Make it clear you're chasing a great opportunity, not running away from an unpleasant situation.
Don't: Speak ill of your current employer. Regardless of how unhappy you are with your job or company, never act bitter or resentful in an interview. Hiring managers seek candidates who are loyal, positive-minded and team-oriented. They aren't inclined to hire people they perceive to be potential headaches.
Finally, despite your best efforts, you can't anticipate every question you'll be asked.
"How would you define your personality in one word?" or "How will you behave if you get blamed for something you didn't do?" were just two of the unique questions that popped up in our survey of hiring managers.
If an interviewer throws you a curveball, maintain eye contact, take a deep breath and pause to consider your response. Many of your competitors will fluster easily. Set yourself apart by keeping your cool in the hot seat.
Taken from here
Pertanyaan lain yang sering keluar mungkin, Why should we hire you? atau "Kenapa kami harus mempekerjakan kamu?"
Ga usah seksi-seksi make-up tebel segala, eh tapi itu tergantung pekerjaannya sih hehe.

What I Read in the Afternoon: A Study In Scarlet
Posted in Muse By inezia 5 komentar
What I read in this sunny noon? Sherlock Holmes. Yes, again. This one is A Study in Scarlet, where Holmes first appeared in Sir Conan Doyle's. You can read it here.

"You see," he explained, "I consider that a man's brain originally is like a little empty attic, and you have to stock it with such furniture as you choose. A fool takes in all the lumber of every sort that he comes across, so that the knowledge which might be useful to him gets crowded out, or at best is jumbled up with a lot of other things, so that he has a difficulty in laying his hands upon it. Now the skilful workman is very careful indeed as to what he takes into his brain-attic. He will have nothing but the tools which may help him in doing his work, but of these he has a large assortment, and all in the most perfect order. It is a mistake to think that that little room has elastic walls and can distend to any extent. Depend upon it there comes a time when for every addition of knowledge you forget something that you knew before. It is of the highest importance, therefore, not to have useless facts elbowing out the useful ones."
"But the Solar System!" I protested.
"What the deuce is it to me?" he interrupted impatiently: "You say that we go round the sun. If we went round the moon it would not make a pennyworth of difference to me or to my work."
I think this is not what they said ignorance is a bliss. This is about how you manage your mind, what to put in it and what to throw. Nice, Mr. Holmes. You're still one of the smartest I ever known.
